Official notification of move to eGroups

Lee Jackson <jacksonhome@...>

Well, folks, the time has come to make it official. After reading
everyone's suggestions, looking at the services, and weighing all the
choices, it appears that it would be in the best interest for us to move
the list to eGroups.

You will soon receive invitations to join the eGroups list. Reply back to
the invitation if you wish to join, and make sure the reply is headed back
to the proper address as shown in the e-mail before you press Send. If you
don't want to join us on the new list, just ignore the invitation.

To all digest subscribers - if you subscribe to both the main list and the
digest format, you might receive two invitations. Just reply to one.
Also, you'll need to go to the web site at
and change your mode from single messages to digest. I apologize for the
inconvenience, but with this comes an added feature - you can select either
the regular digest format you're used to, or a "daily summary" format that
is a bit easier to...ahem...digest.

To summarize, make sure that you read the invitation message carefully, and
follow its instructions closely. This will assure that your move to the
new list is as painless as possible.

I have already deleted tne ONEList account, so everyone who went over there
to help test things has been automatically removed from the list. No
hassles on your part - you won't need to do a thing, other than maybe
change your e-mail filters. I appreciate your help with this.

Speaking of filters, all future mail from the eGroups list will show
puny@... as the "To:" field of the header. Also, each message will
include [puny] as part of the subject. You can use either or both of these
fields to filter your mail into folders, if you wish. If you use Agent as
your mail program, here's a filter expression that I've found works for me:

Subject: {\[puny\]}

Consult your mail program's documentation for setting up and using filters.

Finally, within about a week or so, I'm going to remove everyone's address
from the Prodigy list. I can't delete the account as I did with ONEList
(Prodigy has to remove lists, and I can't get Prodigy to respond), so it'll
have to be done on my end. The list will remain on Prodigy, but I will
occasionally feed messages through it that tell anyone who signs up that
it's no longer active, and will also redirect them to the new list.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your support these past few
months. It's been a difficult decision to make, but it was one that needed
to be made for the good of the group. Ladies and Gentlemen, I now return
the floor to you. Here's to a long, happy, and active fellowship on the
new list!
