Rogue Riddle 1013 -- Flights of Fancy -- Winner Declared and Answers Revealed.
Lars Hanson
All,
There were only two players this week, with Cyn weighing in first and Gary Reeve weighing in second. Then all went silent and nothing was heard since Saturday.
Gary is this week’s winner, and will host Rogue Riddle #1014 next week.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Rogue Riddle 1013
More Flights of Fancy
Back to earth this week with an apolitical riddle to transport you. While the beer bug, um, Corona virus, seems to be what’s ale-ing folks these days and reducing travel, time to travel while bottled up in safety and comfort at home, without having to wait in lime.
As usual this week’s Rogue consists of twenty riddles, all on the same airy theme.
Q: Robert E’s king? A: LEE’S MAJESTY (lese majesty or majesté)
Where both punned and unpunned answers are involved, full credit requires both answers. One riddle refers to a fictitious company.
As always, remember that the wording of each riddle generally has been carefully chosen both to provide clues and to avoid the use of any words in the answer.
As usual, the riddle will run until 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday. The first person to solve all the riddles will be declared the winner. If no one has solved all the riddles by 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, the one with the most correct answers will be declared the winner and will host Rogue Riddle 10148 next week.
Now, sit down, buckle up, make sure your seat backs are up and tray tables are in the up and locked position, and let’s take off!
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

2. Liszted? AIR FRANZ / AIR FRANCE

All,
Well, the airfield appears to be fogged in, with only two flights which having managed to take off. Being unable even to see the runway, no other flights have yet departed their gates. Perhaps they are awaiting boarding, or perhaps there are aircraft difficulties? Or maybe the baggage handlers have gone on strike? Even our Learless Feeder has yet to essay a yoke here.
For those experiencing equipment difficulties this week, some additional maintenance tips are provided below.

Rogue Riddle 1013 -- Maintenance Tips 1 --
#RogueRiddle
Lars Hanson
All,
Looking at the status board, is only the same two flights which have departed so far and are climbing nicely. Apparently they realized it is no Cyn to Gary your bags on board -- that way there's no waiting for luggage on ar-reeve-al. Other flights have yet to leave their gates. Perhaps they are awaiting boarding, or perhaps there are mechanical difficulties? Even our Learless Feeder has yet to essay a yoke here.
Coronavirus should not keep people from these flights. They are guaranteed germ-free and healthy! However, this is an economy flight, and so there will be no in-flight service. Even so, there is plenty of leg room and no charge for excess baggage. Feel free to have a Corona while relaxing. There need be no fear on that score.
For those still experiencing difficulties getting of the ground this week, some maintenance tips are provided below.

Rogue 1012 One last set of clues -- hopefully giveaway clues
One Sagan
Alongside each riddle I have posted the first letter of each word to the punned answer (not the first letter of each politician's real unpunned name) Another clue: All of the real life politicians whose names are punned on are democrats. But, only some of them are running for the presidency.
Send your replies to one_sagan@...
After each riddle I have posted the letter counts of the answers. When the answer is a person's name I have indicated the sex of the person whose name is punned on and in 2 cases some other information as well. Most of these people have had their names in the national news recently; it should not be so hard to come up with decent guesses.
