Determining what book has enjoyed the most commercial success of all time turns out to be quite a challenge.
Theoretically we can just look at the sales numbers and rank them.
However, comparing the sales numbers of the Bible to the works of Dickens is like comparing apples to oranges.
In this example the Bible is an apple and Dickens is an orange.

Looking at it from a very different point of view, Dickens wrote A Child's History of England. It covered the Roman conquest in 55 BC to the triumph of William of Orange in 1688.
William of Orange was a protestant.
The Orange Order is protestant.
Dickens was a protestant.
Dickens was an Orange.
