Mamba mia, Lars! I’m glad to see all of this serpentine sniping didn’t rattle you. I just hope everyone will let pythons be pythons and all be friends.
Fangs for the support. Maybe a set of windshield vipers might have cleared things a bit.
If Stan prefers a different riddle number, he can tell me.
Meanwhile, I will just snake off for a nice weekend, but not weakened by the flak on this one. I do not intend to asp for forgiveness, nor let the matter be a constrictor for future efforts. Anaconda way there is another benefit, as such incidents merely serve as reminders of what others may consider to be common knowledge.

As one poisonous snake said to another, “You can’t venom all.”
BTW, I think Stan will want you to number the next FAST riddle #31-A.
I was sure you would have torpedoed FAST #31!
However, play was slowed, hence the retirement.
Hang around for FAST #32. It should be an easier one for all.

Bummer. We just got home from a day-long excursion and I finally checked my e-mail backlog. Too bad this riddle was retired, since my wife and I were actually at Faslane during our trip to the U.K. last September, so I would’ve nailed this one before any clues!
C’est la vie. Okay, “la vie.”
Och, it appears this one was a wee bit tougher than anticipated, unfortunately. Doug and Alex were the only ones playing. I thought Jim would catch this one for sure, but apparently he did not.
I am retiring FAST #31, and will provide FAST #32 on Tuesday morning.
The answer to FAST #31?
The driver, Clyde, had made the mistake of shifting to the FASLANE (FAST LANE), and so wound up in that bay in Gareloch in bonnie Scotland.
is the site of HM Naval Base Clyde, in Scotland. It was the home base for U.S. ballistic missile submarines (SSBN's), and now is the home bases for British Vanguard class SSBN's.
FAST #32 also will follow the theme. Look for it Tuesday morning.
Most guesses repeatedly missed the pony that this riddle was back on theme.
Nevertheless, there were some fun guesses along the way, however:
He didn't loch left
He was in firth gear
Life in the firth lane
Thanks for playing.
